Hojicha powder, milled from Japanese green tea roasted at high temperature.
Roasting changes the leaf. High heat drives off part of the caffeine, bitterness and astringency round off, and a toasted, nutty aroma develops in their place. The powder is milled fine, so it disperses in milk without settling.
Deep roasted aroma over a natural sweetness
Reduced caffeine from the roast
Milled fine for lattes, soft serve, and baked goods
Roasted and milled to one standard, so color and taste hold from bag to bag.

Great
This hojicha powder dissolves easily in hot water and is very easy to drink. The roasting level is just right for me, as I’m not a fan of overly strong roasted flavors.
Tea, Transformed by Fire

The Aroma of Roasting
Hojicha begins as green tea and becomes something entirely different through heat. Roasting replaces the fresh, grassy edge with warmth: toasted grain, gentle sweetness, and a smooth finish.
The result is still Japanese tea, but its character is read through aroma as much as taste.
Roasting also changes the balance of the cup. The vegetal edge recedes, bitterness becomes quieter, and the toasted fragrance can stand beside dairy, chocolate, and baked flavors without disappearing. The powder is selected for this roasted clarity rather than for the profile of an unroasted leaf.

Across the Menu
As a fine powder, hojicha can move through milk, soft serve, creams, batters, and fillings without a separate steeping step. The roasted aroma remains legible beside dairy, chocolate, and baked flavors.
For cafés and kitchens, that creates one Japanese tea ingredient with several production paths. A defined roast and milling standard keeps the intended color and toasted profile consistent from bag to bag.
